curse, maledizione, проклятие

I used to fear curses, but this verse sums up my feelings towards any threat of a curse (although no one has ever threatened me…). A lot of the verses in the bible make me raise an eyebrow, but there are so many gems as well. 

Proverbs 26:2

Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight.

This is from my King James version. Years ago when I was first introduced to this verse it was - “An undeserved curse can never harm you; it is like a swallow that never takes flight”. I always thought that was so much more beautiful, and I memorized it word for word, yet I have no idea what version this is from. I don’t remember where I even heard it… Regardless, it’s a beautiful verse and I think it is well fitting.

COLORS AND SYMBOLS OF FOUR ELEMENTS
The colors and symbols associated with the four elements each represent different aspects of nature. Depending on the culture and belief system, the symbols and colors may vary slightly.

EARTH ELEMENT LA TERRA 

ЗЕМЛЯ

 

• Earth is a feminine element and is passive.
• It symbolizes the planet earth, mother and grandmother.
• Earth represents:
  • Nourishment
  • Stability
  • Permanence
  • Security
  • Solidness
• It symbolizes the direction North (nord, север).
• Earth represents midnight in the cycle of the day.
• It represents the season of winter (inverno, зима) and the wintertime life - old age.

Earth Symbols
In feng shui it represents a strong solid foundation and its symbols include:

• Crystals
• Stones
• Pottery made from clay.

It symbolizes the zodiac signs of:

• Virgo
• Capricorn
• Taurus

Earth Colors
The colors representing Earth in the classic four elements are brown and green. These are also the colors of Earth from a Wiccan and Pagan perspective. Earth is also represented by:

• Yellow in the Chinese five element theory
• Light brown
• Light sandy tan
• Light yellow in feng shui

WATER ELEMENT L’ACQUA ВОДА 
Water is a feminine element. In feng shui water represents:

• Prosperity
• Regeneration
• Cleansing
• Purification.

Water Symbols
Water symbolizes the direction West (ovest, запад) and the season of autumn (autunno, осень), as well as:

• Fish tanks
• Fountains.

It symbolizes the zodiac signs of:

• Cancer
• Pisces
• Scorpio

Water Colors
The colors representing water are:

• Blue
• Black

FIRE ELEMENT il fuoco огонь 

Fire is a masculine element

• It is associated with the direction south (sud, юг).
• It represents noon in the cycle of the day.
• Fire represents the season summer (estate, лета).
• In the cycle of life it represents young adulthood.

Fire Symbols
Fire symbolizes the zodiac signs of:

• Leo
• Aries
• Sagittarius

Fire Colors
In the classic four elements fire is symbolized by the colors:

• Red
• Orange
• Strong yellows
• Pink
• Purple

AIR ELEMENT L’ARIA ВОЗДУХ  

Air is a masculine element.

• It is associated with the direction East.
• air represents new beginnings, the breath of life and mental activity.

Air Symbols
Air symbolizes the zodiac signs:

• Aquarius
• Gemini.
• Libra

Air Colors
The color associated with air is blue. (personally, I have always used yellow for air, or clear of course when possible). I am an aquarius myself…

I’ll be posting again soon. :D midterms have been killing me..but after tomorrow (!! never thought I’d see the end..) I’ll have more freedom. <3 I have a lot of things I’ve been meaning to post, especially since I’m doing a term paper on the Romani people.
